I’m pretty sure I have too many ongoing projects LOL. But I try to do a bit at a time on a lot of things haha. I this case I made the wig for my Dollshe Erica Snow — I can get into the drama of Dollshe dolls but it took 2 years and 7 months to receive her and she was just a head, not even the whole doll. There are tons of places to read up on all the drama of the Dollshe doll waits. I’ve still got one order I’m waiting for — hoping he arrives by next year and then at least I’m done haha. ANYWAY. She’s on a Dollstown 18yr body, which I am super glad I got haha.
I actually love alpaca wigs but I’ve had such a hard time making good wefts that don’t shed much. Partly that is just me learning how to design a wig so it works — I have some good ideas for the next time so maybe I won’t get frustrated towards the end and then rush the finish haha. Once I get the process down better it will definitely be a lot easier.
I get my alpaca fiber from Zerga Studios on Etsy and they always provide the most glorious fiber, which is probably why I get frustrated when I haven’t applied it the way I want haha. This sunset color was fantastic and I thought it would fit the character I’m developing for the Erica Snow sculpt. I had custom eyes made by TheSecretArtStudio on Etsy as well and they work perfect. I don’t have a name for her yet, but I tend to not have names until they are fully painted at least, haha.
I did some maintenance on my Granado Katrien aka Ezra recently and I’m excited to show off my updates for her, including her new eyes which are fantastic. Seriously, TheSecretArtStudio is my favorite eye vendor right now. Ezra had some pretty weird stringing so I have some video of me flailing around and getting her updated.
